The Match (Original 12x16)

$200.00

The second in the portrait series, a woman dressed as a fox holds a match to her own tail. Evocative and capturing the most desperate tool of self destruction employed to destroy the system. While the artist wants the viewer to interpret this as she will, this painting was inspired by two sources: the quote that the prodigal daughter returns to the village to burn it down, and the story in the Bible where they catch a bunch of foxes, light their tails, and send them through the victim’s fields, thereby winning the battle. Bright colors and bold composition.

Original acrylic finished with oil paints.
