Hi! I’m Laura and I’d like to welcome you into the visual expression of my lived experience!

I want you to feel what I feel when I’m out in nature – whether that’s the sublime peace of a lying in a grassy field in East Texas (Sky Visions No. 1), the euphoric summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (Kili Summit No. 1 and 2). I’ve never been able to hold back from jumping into a new adventure, and I’d like to bring you along!

I grew up in Kenya, Africa, where I was immersed in an extraordinarily wide array of experiences, from mundane to absolute bliss. I also lived in Mexico for a few years and traveled through South America, always seeking out beautiful natural places and views to share with the people I care about. That now includes you through my visual art.

I primarily use oil on canvas and offer framed or unframed originals, custom orders, and prints. While I occasionally dip into mixed media (1000 Camels), I like the thick rich colors accessible through oil paint, as well as its historical tie to the old masters. Oil pigments are also sourced directly from nature, consisting of refined earth and stone and natural plant-based oils, so I like that it is made of the very thing what inspires it, the earth.
